In late 2006, CPMG secured the commission for the design of a landmark new building for De Montfort University.

The project capitalises on the realignment of the city’s inner ring road, and has revitalised an area with considerable historic interest.

 The facility provides excellent accommodation for the university’s schools of business and law, and includes a number of large lecture theatres centred on a dramatic atrium space.

 The design wraps around to create a sheltered courtyard space. This space is shared with the adjoining centre of excellence in the performing arts, to provide a vibrant external setting for performances as well as general social use.

The scheme was delivered to minimise its carbon footprint, both in construction and in a lifetime of use and received a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
