Cambridgeshire CC Offices
Cambridge
A £4m new build office for Cambridgeshire County Council completed in 2007.
As part of the competition winning Huntingdon Town Centre Masterplan by CPMG, our client DE Clegg, in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council and with CPMG as their architects has developed designs for an office building.
The design team has exercised considerable skill in successfully knitting a large modern building into the townscape of a historic market town. The design was developed through close consultation with the Local Planning Authority, English Heritage, Local Interest Groups and CABE.
The office is a low energy building using natural ventilation combined with night purging to ensure a comfortable internal environment. Predictive computer modelling techniques have been employed to assess the environment achieved and to develop the most effective environmental control measures.
The project is the first phase of a comprehensive redevelopment of a tract of the Huntingdon Town Centre Conservation Area that will, through successive phases, provide a new public library, register office, homes for private sale and affordable homes.
