In this design, the emphasis was on creating a bespoke, iconic form that gave the building its own identity and impact on the skyline whilst also addressing the need to integrate the tower fully with the base building.
The design concept enabled a curving, flowing integrated form to develop with an economy on floor area, and an emphasis on form. The design is intended to reflect the wider context of the airport itself.

This emphasis is perhaps naturally presented through the need to perch the VCR at a fixed height in order to operate, and the concept attempts to lift and carry this element in an integrated and visually pleasing manner.
