Bristol ATC

This five-storey, steel-framed building houses four different functions: external engineering (AGL), electronic engineering, training, and ATC.

The 29 metre-high building accommodates 40 ATC officers, who provide a 24-hour, 365-day service. Four consoles provide radar service and a Lower Airspace Advisory Service to aircraft. From the equipment rooms, a team of engineers and technicians is able to monitor, control and maintain the specialist systems sited all around the airport.

The training suite provides purpose-built training and conference facilities. All operational areas are air-conditioned, and controlled via a BMS system in the main terminal building, which also covers security and fire issues.
