Daicunzhen Masterplan, China
Daicun is a town of approximately 30,000 people located on the Southern edge of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province. A new motorway is being built from Daicun to the middle of Hangzhou, dramatically reducing journey times, and an orbital motorway around Hangzhou is also planned that will pass the Southern side of the town. Consequently the town is to expand its population and being located on a flat areas of land surrounded by bamboo forested hills the scope for outward expansion is limited.
Working with local government our team is leading a project that will recreate the town in a new image, retaining key residential areas, but replacing commercial and industrial areas with a new more dense pattern of development.
We are proposing a masterplan designed around sustainable and smart city principles, with large green recreational spaces, sophisticated pedestrian focussed movement paths and an eco-friendly development approach for the new residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
We’ve over 20 years experience in a range of sectors. Here’s a selection of our finest work.
