Ecclesbourne School - Core Works, Duffield
We worked with Ecclesbourne School to deliver a series of developments including a sports hall and work to the school’s teaching blocks. Redevelopment included a new queuing area to the catering and dining facilities, the creation of a new sixth form science laboratory, a music suite, a mathematics classroom extension and a new modern foreign languages block. A safeguarding report around site security, site access and vehicle and pedestrian movement has also been created.

The sports hall project seeks to address the shortcomings in indoor sports facilities in schools and communities by developing part of the school campus in two phases. Phase one provides a new Sport England standard four-court sports hall, plus a fitness suite, dance studio and PE classroom, with associated changing and support facilities. A second phase adds a 25 x 10m indoor swimming pool.
A new English Faculties block has been developed which houses ten classrooms, two seminar rooms and a large hall that can be divided into two teaching spaces, tiered seating for a full year group and AV gallery.
