Hogarth Day Case and Teenage Cancer Trust Unit, Nottingham City Hospital
Patients, families and staff are benefiting from a new facility for the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) and day case cancer patients.
We designed a bright, spacious and comfortable unit comprising of five bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, a day room and associated treatment rooms. Large bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms for ambulant and wheel chair users have been introduced alongside a large lounge with its own refreshment facilities. An alternative therapies room and a quiet room are also provided.
The ‘L’ shaped ward means the TCT unit is a distinct area in close proximity to the day case unit meaning staff are able to care for patients across both facilities with ease.
The value of the project is approximately £250,000 plus the Teenage Cancer Trusts' contribution. It was procured under the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust framework agreement and a JCT Intermediate building contract.
