Rushcliffe Arena Offices, Nottingham
Allowing for Rushcliffe Borough Council to co-locate its offices, civic facilities and main leisure centre onto one site, the new Rushcliffe Arena development improves the efficiency and quality of public services within the area.
Rushcliffe Borough Council now has a 2,000 square metres of open-plan office space and new civic facilities including Council Chamber, Leaders’ and Members’ Rooms and associated meeting spaces. In addition to the council buildings, local people and staff will benefit from a new leisure facility located in the heart of the West Bridgford community.
- rushcliffe employee"The office is clean and bright, a lovely environment to work in. I particularly enjoy the kitchen area, again this is bright and cheerful and a good excuse to get away from your desk and meet colleagues."
The building has been designed to improve the efficiency and quality of public service delivery and to transform the leisure provision for this part of the borough. As well as being highly efficient, co-locating the two facilities provides council staff with a great leisure facility on their doorstep, which includes a large gym and a six lane 25m length swimming pool.
Energy efficiency was a key design driver throughout the building. A ‘fabric first’ approach has been adopted using PassivHaus principles for exposed thermal mass, super insulation combined with mixed mode ventilation. The building also has the added benefit of rooftop solar panels.
