St James Yard, Derby

This leisure proposal in the historic Cathedral Quarter of Derby links together key retail streets using currently underused back land areas. The stables and sheds from an old listed coaching inn will be brought back into beneficial use. The project comprises a number of bar and restaurant units in a combination of new and refurbished buildings totalling approximately 20,000 square feet.

We submitted a planning application on behalf of Clowes Developments for the transformation of two derelict buildings.

The buildings will be converted into bars or cafes in a development which aims to breathe new life into a hidden part of the city’s historic Cathedral Quarter. This is the first phase of a larger development that includes new build retail and leisure units transforming the yard into a lively evening venue space connecting The Strand and Sadler Gate.
