Government Offices - Guildford
The Government Office (GO) network underwent a rationalisation of its estates strategy as part of a review to make efficiency savings and reduce headcount.
We were appointed to a three to five year framework, supporting its partners Turner & Townsend, to assist the GO network in delivering a more effective and flexible use of its existing space.
We carried out space planning and interior design exercises at selected regional offices, culminating in an Optional Appraisal Report.
Eleven regional offices were identified as in greatest need of attention. Of there, five regional offices (GOYH Leeds, GONE Newcastle, GONW Liverpool, GOSE Guildford and GOSW Plymouth) were selected for phase one. The complete refurbishment of GOSE , costing approximately £1m, and the minor rationalisation of GONE and GOYH were completed in March 2009. GOSW and GONW are currently under evaluation following the completion of an options appraisal exercise.
