Hart's Restaurant, Nottingham
The conversion of the former accident and emergency unit of the old General Hospital into Nottingham’s ‘swishest’ restaurant might seem a daunting task, but the team rose to the challenge.
The interior of the restaurant was inspired by the Bauhaus abstract paintings of the client Tim Hart, who trained in the famous Weimar design school in the 1920s.
Our aim was to create a bright, uncluttered - but not minimalistic- stage set for the enjoyment of very good food and first-class service.
The interior design is characterised by planes of white walls and floating ceilings with white circular columns, defining the space within the restaurant. The colour and textures are provided by Vladimir’s wonderful abstract paintings. A theatrical touch is added to the gourmet dining experience by an innovative lighting system which provides a range of different atmosphere.
