Loughborough University STEMlab Interior Design
The STEMLab acts as a new hub for Science and Engineering, providing a truly student-focused learning environment boasting state-of-the-art facilities. It offers a ‘drop-in’ engineering workshop, alongside a range of modern laboratories and teaching spaces. We were brought in after planning submission, to develop the designs and support the project through construction.
The project has a two-fold significance: firstly, the STEMLab facilities are fundamental to the University’s strategic expansion in STEM subjects; and secondly, the building sits in a prominent gateway location on campus.

We introduced a high-quality landscaping scheme which transforms the steeply sloping site into pedestrian-friendly social space. Internally, our expertise has helped rationalise laboratory layouts and coordinate the significant building services and extract requirements.
