Vijay Patel Building Interior Design, DMU
The redevelopment of the De Montfort University’s Fletcher complex of buildings was an exciting opportunity to transform a significant site within the city of Leicester.
A critical phase in the university’s long-term masterplan, which is built around an ambitious vision to re-connect the city centre to the River Soar by creating a series of linked public open spaces through the De Montfort campus. By pairing these landscaped spaces with purpose-designed new and remodelled University facilities, the result is a series of high quality urban spaces.
The new accommodation included the school of architecture, the school of arts, the school of design, and the school of fashion and textiles. The project included contemporary and customer-focused catering facilities which are light, bright, vibrant.
