Cranfield University AIRC submitted for planning

Proposals for an Aerospace Integration Research Centre (AIRC) at Cranfield University have been submitted for planning. This is an exciting aerospace research centre for the University, in partnership with Rolls-Royce and Airbus. The AIRC will provide a distinctive platform-level capability to investigate system integration issues associated with airframe propulsion.

The accommodation comprises a triple height entrance “atrium” and “high bay area” containing Avionics, Thermals, Mechanical, Electrical and Structural laboratories sandwiched between are three floors of further accommodation. Covered laboratories offer the opportunity for controlled research and two further floors above include visualisation and simulation suites, open plan office areas and university meeting areas.
