InterContinental Hotel London Opens

We are immensely proud of the work CPMG has completed at the InterContinental London – The O2; Arora International's latest high profile, luxury hotel.

We were appointed by S&T Interiors to interpret the sketches of Arora's interior designer, G1 Architecture. Our objective was to support and work directly with the client to maintain the high-quality design concept and finish.

Our work can be seen throughout the 18 floor building - which is located on the Greenwich peninsular - including the reception, concierge lounge, conference facilities, restaurants, bars, penthouse suite, and spa.

The brief was to celebrate the historic export industry of the Thames, with the design reflecting stories of the tea, exotic spices, fabrics, and art which used to flow down the river to be traded.

The reception lobby - the hub of the hotel - is designed to remind guests of a lighthouse with intricate golden detailing that sprawls across the walls and floors to create a pulsing effect.

East India trading movements heavily influenced the Meridian bar, with its nautical theme brought to life through polished brass features and navigational markings with panoramic views of the river.

The Clipper Bar concept was inspired specifically by the tea trade. A colonial theme was achieved by using traditional flooring patterns, lighting choices and timeless furniture pieces.

This project reflects the continued success of our interior design department and the growth of our new London office through the team’s expertise and ability to be flexible and creative with a client brief. The result at InterContinental London is a hugely impressive, modern space that serves as a celebration of the rich history of the surrounding area.
