CPMG RICS Shortlisted Projects 2018
We are delighted that several of our projects have been shortlisted in the RICS Awards this year. Here are some of the shortlisted projects.
Aerospace Integrated Research Centre, Cranfield University

The AIRC, a landmark building delivered in partnership with Rolls-Royce and Airbus, will change the future design of aircraft. The three-storey building includes open laboratory space with a 40m clear span capable of housing large airframe integration projects. Other areas include presentation and visualisation space alongside state-of-the-art simulation facilities. Researchers and engineers from Cranfield, and its partner companies, work closely together in an open plan office environment. Full details of the AIRC an be seen here.
BioCity Discovery Building, Nottingham

The project is a celebration of Nottingham’s rich bio-science history and creates a new gateway into the existing Bio-City quarter, providing a fitting first node in the east-side development.
Building users and passers-by will benefit from much-needed external amenity space which helps to establish links to the eastside of the city centre. See the Discovery Building project details here.

The building has been designed to secure improvement in the efficiency and quality of delivery of public services and to transform the leisure provision for this part of the Borough. In addition to being highly efficient, this great leisure facility includes a large gym and 6 lane 25m length pool on locals doorstep. See all the project images and details here.
Vijay Patel Building, De Montfort University, Leicester

The redevelopment of the De Montfort University’s Fletcher complex of buildings was an exciting opportunity to transform a significant site within the city of Leicester. Details of the full transformation are here.
Teesside University Library, Middlesbrough

The refurbishment of Teesside University’s central library – a facility which has a pivotal role for every student and visitor to the campus. The library provides a central resource for all faculty areas, and also a popular ICT resource which is open for significantly extended hours. See the refurbishment in full here.
STEMlab, Loughborough University

The STEMLab acts as a new hub for Science and Engineering, providing a truly student-focused learning environment boasting state-of-the-art facilities. It offers a ‘drop-in’ engineering workshop, alongside a range of modern laboratories and teaching spaces. We were brought in after planning submission, to develop the designs and support the project through construction. Full project details can be found here.
