CPMG's annual charity walk postponed

As a result of COVID-19, we have unfortunately decided to postpone our annual charity walk until Saturday 12 September when we hope that restrictions will have been lifted been lifted further. This decision has been taken with the health and safety of our walkers in mind and should also give us plenty of time to get in some practice before the 50km walk.

As an incentive, we have organised our planned route for our attendees who still wish to take part ahead of our back-up date. The circular walk begins at Baslow and travels through some of the Peak District’s most beautiful spots, including Froggatt Edge, the famous plague village ofEyam, Monsal and Lathkill Dales, before returning to the pub in Baslow through the Chatsworth Estate.

This year our chosen charity is CASY, which provides a confidential counselling service for young people aged six to 24 within Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We are very excited to be able to support such as fantastic cause and hope you can help us to exceed our target of £2,500.

As usual, route information will be provided and the mobile tuck shop will be in operation to keep everyone well fed and watered throughout the day, before we all retire to a local pub at the finish line.

If you’re interested in participating in the walk in September, please get in touch with director Paul Bodill. We hope to see lots of you joining us to support CASY and have a great day walking with us in the Peak District in September. Until then, stay safe.
