Designing healthcare environments that nurture, perform and inspire
We create healthcare buildings that support staff, patients, and communities alike.
From primary care centres to acute hospitals, our projects range from maternity units and orthopaedic theatres to specialised pharmaceutical laboratories.
We often act as the retained architect for hospitals, guiding multiple projects across their campuses and ensuring continuity, quality, and efficiency. Our work also supports charitable organisations, including the Teenage Cancer Trust, the Ear Foundation, and the National Autistic Society, creating spaces that are inclusive, functional, and focused on wellbeing.
Expert-led, technology-enabled design
To deliver high-quality healthcare environments, we leverage ADB (Activity Database) software, a toolkit provided by the Department of Health. ADB allows us to develop detailed room layouts, room data sheets, and equipment schedules, ensuring every clinical and non-clinical space is optimised for staff, patients, and operational efficiency. Integrated with Revit, this approach streamlines the generation of design documentation, improving accuracy and reducing risk across projects.
Comprehensive healthcare solutions
Our expertise spans:
- Acute care facilities: including advanced cancer centres, robotic operating theatres, and hybrid surgical suites.
- Diagnostic and treatment units: MRI and X-ray facilities, endoscopy suites, community diagnostic centres.
- Inpatient wards and discharge services: tailored to patient needs, including geriatric, elective surgical, and paediatric care.
- Specialist care environments: palliative and end-of-life care, renal transplant units, and training/education facilities for clinical teams.
- Community-integrated centres: combining medical, social, and educational services in one cohesive design.
Each project is informed by clinical engagement, operational workflows, and evidence-based guidance, ensuring spaces are safe, efficient, and adaptable to future needs.
Comprehensive healthcare solutions
We approach healthcare design with a focus on:
- Patient experience: maximising natural light, improving wayfinding, and creating calm, restorative environments.
- Operational efficiency: optimising layouts for clinical workflows, staff adjacencies, and flexible future use.
- Innovation and technology: integrating cutting-edge equipment, modular solutions, and specialist software to streamline design and delivery.
- Community impact: creating facilities that benefit staff, patients, and the wider public, blending healthcare with social infrastructure.
From major hospital campuses to community centres, CPMG ensures healthcare environments heal, support, and innovate - shaping the spaces where people receive care and professionals deliver it.
