Work is now underway on the £12 million refurbished and expanded state-of-the-art endoscopy unit at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s (NUH) Queen’s Medical Centre project, designed by CPMG Architects.

When completed, the facility will include an admissions unit, preparation rooms, as well as three Endoscopy Treatment Rooms, two recovery bays, discharge room, staff hub and welfare. Every element has been designed with a focus on supporting efficient clinical delivery whilst improving the day-to-day experience for patients, visitors and staff.

The bigger unit means NUH will be able to deliver more complex endoscopic procedures.

Other key patient benefits include:

  • Increased capacity and reduced waiting times, particularly for urgent inpatient diagnostics.
  • Enhanced patient experience with improved privacy, dignity, and safety.
  • Compliance with national standards for ventilation and room size in endoscopy services.

With a strong track record of delivering healthcare projects across the Midlands and UK, CPMG brings extensive sector insight with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector. This project builds on that, creating a future-ready space that reflects the evolving needs of diagnostics, clinicians and patients alike.
